Privacy policy
Last updated: 18 June 2026. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, and your rights over it.
Who we are
Coping with Joy Ltd ("we", "us") is the data controller for personal information collected through this website. We are registered in England and Wales (company number 17277537). You can contact us about anything in this policy at hello@copingwithjoy.co.uk.
What we collect, and why
- When you buy a workbook: your name, email address and payment details are collected by our checkout provider, Payhip, to process your order and deliver your download. We receive your name, email and order details; we never see your full card details. Legal basis: performance of a contract.
- When you join our email list: your email address, stored via our website host and used to send occasional updates about our resources and programmes. Legal basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time using the unsubscribe link in every email.
- When you email us: your email address and whatever you choose to tell us, used to reply to you. Legal basis: legitimate interest in responding to enquiries.
What we deliberately don't collect
Our workbooks are designed to be private. Anything you write in them — trackers, worksheets, reflections — stays on your device or your printed copy. We have no access to it, ever. We do not ask for, and ask you not to send us, information about your health.
Who we share information with
We share personal information only with the service providers needed to run this site: Payhip (checkout and delivery) and Netlify (website hosting and processing of sign-up form submissions). Each acts under their own privacy policy and appropriate safeguards. We never sell personal information. If we adopt a dedicated email service in future, this policy will be updated to name it.
How long we keep it
Order records are kept for six years, as UK tax law requires. Email list data is kept until you unsubscribe or we delete inactive addresses. Enquiry emails are deleted within 12 months of the conversation ending.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, to object to or restrict our use of it, and to withdraw consent at any time. To use any of these rights, email hello@copingwithjoy.co.uk. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Cookies
This site does not set marketing or analytics cookies. [If analytics are added later, update this section and add a consent banner if required.]
